Republic Act 7719 or the National Blood Services Act of 1994 aims to inculcate public awareness that blood donation is a humanitarian act highlighting its importance in saving the lives of millions of Filipinos.
Present during the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing, in behalf of the Medical Center Chief, Dr. Maria Lourdes K. Otayza, were MMMHMC - NVBSP staff led by Dr. Modesty Leaño, Head of the Pathology and Laboratory Department; Dr. Zeus Alcaraz, Consultant-in-Charge; Ms. Maria Fidelis Hermano, Supervising Operations Officer; and Ms. Marinet Cabading, Medical Social Worker.
On the other hand, the LGU of Pasuquin was represented by Mayor Robert Aguinaldo. With him witnessing the pact were SB Members Wilfredo Malapit and Rodolfo Ian Benjamin Valdez, Dr. Diophantos Acob, Engr. Conrado De Vera, and their Blood Coordinators, Mr. Dan Jeremy Palalay and Ms. Nancy Lydia Sagun.
Undoubtedly, this undertaking of the hospital surely strengthens DOH’s campaign of non-remunerated donation of blood and building a network of voluntary blood donors in the province.
