Likewise, Dr. Melissa Juico, President of the Philippine Society of Newborn Medicine, gave her congratulatory message to the whole MMMH&MC for coming up with this activity.

“As one of the most important celebrations during the month of November, the World Prematurity Month aims to acknowledge the need to deliver excellent and comprehensive newborn care to sick neonates for them to live a normal life”, Dr. Juico emphasized.

She also implored to continue the advocacy to campaign and support programs and activities to improve the survival and care of preterm neonates which could lead to better outcomes.

Earlier this year, MMMH&MC expanded its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), ensuring that babies born here under the most critical health conditions will have a higher chance of survival.
